Air Travel Policy
Carriage Policy
This Comprehensive Air Carriage Policy outlines the legal framework, operational rules, and passenger responsibilities for all air travel arrangements managed by Wander Nova Private Limited. As an intermediary facilitating travel solutions, Wander Nova issues travel itineraries that are ultimately executed by third-party air service providers.
Your actual transport is legally governed by this overarching document alongside the specific, localized Conditions of Carriage, Tariffs, and Regulations of the operating airline ("The Carrier"). By purchasing or confirming a booking through Wander Nova Tourism, you explicitly agree to comply with all rules detailed within this policy and the carriage policy shared by the service provider.
Essential Definitions
- The Carrier: The specific airline operating the aircraft or designated by the two-character or three-letter Airline Designator Code on the travel ticket or e-ticket receipt.
- Passenger ("You", "Your"): Any individual (adult, child, or infant) holding a valid travel ticket issued or facilitated by Wander Nova Tourism, excluding active members of the flight or operating cabin crew.
- Checked Baggage: Personal property placed into the exclusive custody of the Carrier for storage in the cargo hold, for which a Baggage Check or Baggage Identification Tag has been officially printed and attached.
- Unchecked Baggage (Carry-on): Any personal property, hand luggage, or cabin items retained under the direct care and physical custody of the passenger inside the aircraft cabin.
- Event Beyond Passenger Control: An exceptional, unusual, and entirely unforeseeable circumstance that prevents travel, the consequences of which could not be avoided even with due care. This excludes a passenger's failure to possess valid entry/transit visas, pre-existing medical conditions known at booking, personal/business scheduling conflicts, or traffic-related arrival delays.
- SDR (Special Drawing Right): An international reserve asset defined by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) used to standardize international aviation liability limits.
Ticket Legitimacy, Validity, and Sequence of Use
Passports and Ticket Matching
Carriage will only be provided to the passenger explicitly named on the valid e-ticket receipt. You are required to produce a valid passport matching the ticket name exactly; minor spelling discrepancies may result in the Carrier denying boarding or immigration authorities refusing transit. Flight tickets are strictly non-transferable to other individuals unless a legal right exists under localized national laws governing package holiday arrangements.
Period of Validity
Unless specified otherwise by specialized or discounted promotional fare rules, a standard ticket is valid for:
- One calendar year from the exact date of original issue; or
- One calendar year from the date of your first flown segment, provided that the first flight occurred within one year of the original ticket issue date.
If a passenger is prevented from traveling due to an airline's inability to confirm a reservation during the validity window, the sole remedy is an extension of ticket validity or a voluntary refund processed under standard tariff conditions.
Strict Sequential Use of Flight Coupons
Your itinerary is valid only for the exact order of carriage displayed on your ticket receipt from your starting point, through any scheduled stopovers, to the final destination.
- Automatic Cancellation: If you fail to utilize a flight coupon or miss a segment out of sequence, the entire remaining itinerary—including all downstream outbound flights and all return/inbound flights—will be automatically cancelled by the Carrier's reservation system.
- The 24-Hour Exception: To save an inbound return flight after missing an outbound segment, you must contact Wander Nova Tourism or the Carrier within 24 hours of the missed flight's departure time to pay the revised fare and revalidate the remaining ticket segments.
Check-In Deadlines and Gate Attendance
Passengers must complete all check-in formalities, drop off checked luggage, and secure a physical or digital boarding pass prior to the established Check-in Deadline.
Standard Airport Deadlines
Unless localized airport guidelines specify an earlier window, the minimum check-in times prior to the scheduled flight departure are:
| Cabin Class | Mandatory Airport Check-In Deadline |
|---|
| First Class / Business Class | Minimum 90 minutes (1.5 hours) prior to departure |
| Premium Economy / Economy Class | Minimum 180 minutes (3.0 hours) prior to departure |
Boarding Gate Deadlines
Securing a boarding pass does not guarantee transport. You must present yourself physically at the specified boarding gate no later than the precise time indicated during check-in. Failure to arrive at the gate before closure results in immediate refusal of carriage, your checked baggage being off-loaded from the hold, and forfeiture of the fare sector.
⚠ Wander Nova Tourism maintains zero liability for financial losses, missed connections, or auxiliary costs stemming from a passenger's failure to observe these deadlines.
Refusal and Limitation of Passenger Carriage
The operating Carrier retains total authority to refuse to carry you or your baggage on any flight sector—even if you hold a valid ticket and a boarding pass—if one or more of the following occurs:
Legal and Safety Violations
- Refusal is required to remain compliant with any applicable government statutes, immigration rules, public health codes, or foreign policy orders.
- The passenger commits a criminal offense or highly disruptive act during check-in, embarkation, or onboard the aircraft.
- The passenger refuses a mandatory security check on their person or their baggage, or fails to provide satisfactory answers to standard profiling questions.
Behavioral Disruption and Substance Influence
- The passenger uses threatening, abusive, insulting, or indecent language or gestures toward ground handlers, flight crew, or fellow travelers.
- The passenger appears visibly intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or prescription drugs to a degree that compromises aircraft safety or causes distress to other passengers.
Medical Fitness to Fly
Before boarding, passengers must be reasonably satisfied that they are medically fit to fly. If an active doubt exists regarding medical safety (due to recent surgery, acute illness, or severe chronic conditions), passengers must provide a doctor's medical report or completed Medical Information Form (MEDIF) 48 to 96 hours before departure.
- Expectant Mothers: Travel is fully permitted up to the 28th week of gestation. Between the 29th and 36th week for a single uncomplicated pregnancy (or up to the 32nd week for multiple pregnancies), a signed medical certificate from a qualified doctor or midwife confirming the delivery date and fitness to fly must be produced. Transport is strictly prohibited after the 36th week for single pregnancies and after the 32nd week for multiple pregnancies.
- Newborns: Travel for infants within 7 days of birth is generally restricted unless specialized clearance is arranged.
Baggage Policies and Prohibited Items
Free and Excess Baggage Allowance
Your complimentary baggage allowance (weight, size, and piece limits) is explicitly tied to the selected fare tier and routing shown on your itinerary. Any item exceeding these predefined parameters will incur an excess baggage surcharge at the airport check-in counter.
Universal Prohibited Dangerous Goods
You must not include within any baggage (checked or unchecked) items that endanger the safety of the aircraft or persons on board, specifically those outlined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations. This includes explosives, fireworks, flammable liquids, pressurized gases, corrosive acids, toxic chemicals, and radioactive materials.
Prohibitions Specific to Checked Baggage
To protect yourself from loss, you must not include the following high-value or fragile items within your checked hold baggage:
- Valuable items, including cash, currency, fine jewelry, precious metals, and works of art.
- Personal electronic devices, computers, laptops, digital tablets, and stored data drives.
- Essential daily medications or critical medical apparatus required during transit.
- Passports, visas, business deeds, securities, and other vital identity or legal documentation.
Prohibitions Specific to Unchecked (Carry-On) Baggage
The following items are strictly banned from the cabin environment:
- Real, antique, replica, or toy weapons, ammunition, or fireworks.
- Knives of any type, shape, or length, utility blades, straight razors, and metal cutlery.
- Tradesmen's tools, scissors, metal nail files, corkscrews, or sports equipment such as baseball bats, golf clubs, and cues.
Flight Schedules, Delays, Cancellations, and Remedies
Status of Timetables
Flight departure/arrival times and journey durations shown within public timetables or online schedules are informational only. They do not form a guaranteed binding part of your contract of carriage, as schedules are frequently subject to alteration due to operational realities, air traffic control congestion, weather delays, or fleet maintenance.
Exclusive Airline Remedies for Operational Disruption
If a flight is cancelled, significantly rescheduled, or causes a passenger to miss a guaranteed connection under a unified booking, the operating Carrier will provide one of the three following standard remedies, free of extra charge:
- Remedy One: Re-route the passenger and their baggage on the next available flight with open seating, extending ticket validity terms where necessary.
- Remedy Two: Re-route the passenger within a reasonable period to their destination via an alternative airline partner or an agreed ground transportation mode, initiating a refund if the secondary fare class is lower than the original booking.
- Remedy Three: Execute an involuntary refund under the core guidelines of the foundational Conditions of Carriage document.
Core Rules of Onboard Conduct
Passengers must maintain respectful, orderly conduct from the moment of embarkation until final deplaning.
Crew Command Authority
The Pilot-in-Command and cabin crew possess absolute authority to secure the safety of the flight. Passengers must follow all spoken instructions or illuminated cabin notices regarding seat belt usage, electronic device operational constraints, and seating restrictions.
Strict Alcohol and Smoking Constraints
- Alcohol Consumption: Passengers are strictly prohibited from consuming any alcohol onboard unless it has been poured and served directly by the cabin crew. Crew members retain the right to cut off service to any individual at their sole discretion.
- Smoking Ban: Smoking, including the use of traditional tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vapes, and heating devices, is completely illegal on all aircraft zones, including within the lavatories. Tampering with lavatory smoke detectors is a prosecutable criminal offense.
Photography Restrictions
Recording or photographing other passengers, ground staff, or flight crew members without their express, prior verbal consent is strictly prohibited. Crew members have the authority to command the deletion of any images or videos taken unlawfully or without consent during the flight or boarding processes.
Financial and Legal Liability Framework
Convention Rules and Compensation Limits
Airline liability for passenger injury, death, or baggage damage is explicitly bound by international legislation, specifically the Montreal Convention (1999) or the Warsaw Convention (1929) depending on your routing.
- Baggage Claims: Under the Montreal Convention, the maximum liability for proven damage, loss, or delay of both checked and unchecked luggage is capped at 1,519 SDRs per passenger. Under older Warsaw rules, it is restricted to 19 SDRs per kilogram for checked hold baggage.
- Damage Exemptions: Carriers maintain no liability for normal wear-and-tear of luggage (scuffs, minor scratches, broken zippers resulting from standard handling rigors) or damage arising from inherent manufacturing defects of the bag itself.
Strict Deadlines for Filing Baggage Claims
To successfully claim financial compensation for baggage issues, you must file a written complaint with the airline within strict, unalterable timelines:
- Physical Luggage Damage: Must be reported in writing within 7 days of receiving the bag.
- Total or Partial Baggage Loss: Must be reported in writing within 7 days of the date the bag was scheduled to arrive.
- Baggage Delivery Delay: Must be reported in writing within 21 days from the exact date the bag was placed at your disposal.
Statute of Limitations
Any legal right to damages or compensation before a court of law is fully extinguished if an action is not officially brought within two years calculated from the date of arrival at the destination, or the date the aircraft was scheduled to land.
